About Standards Development Agency, Institut Kimia Malaysia

Standards Malaysia, the national standards organisation, has appointed Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM) as a Standard Development Agency (SDA)  to administer and manage standardisation activities within the scope of the Industrial Standards Committee B (ISC B) relating to Chemicals and Materials, including Nanotechnology and Industrial Biotechnology Applications with effect from December 2013.

Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM), or the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry, is a professional statutory organisation incorporated under the Chemists Act 1975 under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). IKM is honoured to take on the role as a Standard Development Agency and to manage ISC B under the National Standards Committee (MyNSC) of the Malaysian Standards and Accreditation Council.

The ISC B undertakes the development and promotion as well as encourage the implementation of standards relating to the Chemical Industry.  This Committee also covers Malaysia’s participation in international standards development for the chemical industry.
